Barbie madness descends on Western Australia with a jam-packed series of fashion, yoga and art-themed activations at three major shopping centres.
A cultural mainstay since her debut in 1959, Barbie has inspired fashion lines, TV shows and video games, not to mention the toy collections of young people (and the young-at-heart) all over the world. With stints as an astronaut, a lawyer, a doctor, a Nascar driver, a paratrooper, a Unicef ambassador and even a vice presidential candidate, no one – not even Madonna – has reinvented themselves more than Barbie.
Now she’s getting a glow-up – again. With the release of the much anticipated Barbie movie (July 20) on everyone’s mind, Vicinity Centres is bringing its Live The Barbie Life activation to three major Western Australian shopping centres these school holidays: Rockingham Centre, Midland Gate, and Mandurah Forum.
Between Wednesday July 5 and Sunday July 16, fans are invited to reinvent themselves at this series of dedicated You Can Be Anything activations, giving visitors the opportunity to step inside the world of the globally renowned icon and experience life through Barbie’s eyes.
Embody relaxation and movement with guided yoga sessions and mindful meditations; Fashion Designer Barbie with a fashion-themed art class or a wardrobe styling class; envision yourself as a dancer with an upbeat dance session; and try hair styling in the Barbie Styling Studio, where you can try on new looks and style Barbie’s locks into a new hairdo.
Sessions are free but you need to book online or try your luck with a walk-in (limited availability) at your local centre.
